Did you ever stop to think, why some of your emotions are not allowed to see the light of day? How you will use every weapon in your arsenal, to keep certain emotions at bay! E-motions are just energy in motion plain & simple. They are neither negative or positive. We human beings are multi-faceted creatures, with a vast array of emotions.
Why is it that some families healthfully express their anger, while others let it simmer under the surface, only to explode inappropriately? Yet other families, see laughter and joy as silly emotions and are imbedded in a joyless seriousness.
Seriously, laughter really is the best medicine! I know I would not be alive today without a sense of humour, & most importantly the ability to laugh at myself. Lord knows my mind can come up with some pretty funny content! I often crack myself up!
So, what are your favourite ways to push down your e-motions into your body, to prevent expression? Is it food, alcohol, sex, exercise, working, watching tell lie vision or porn…?
Have you ever exploded irrationally to something small, later reflecting that you were a mad person? That your reaction was a LITTLE over the top?
You see what happens when we push our e-motions and impulses down, we get fool up. Explode inappropriately like a fool, to the situation at hand. Because we have no more room, to take any more “stuff” on board. We become like a pressure cooker ready to blow our top, at the slightest rise in temperature.
Why is society, in Australia anyway. So averse to the full range of human emotions? We are here to experience the full range of emotions for a full life. Anger, sadness and fear, along with the accepted emotions of joy and love.
Who or what in your life made you believe that anger was not allowed? Or your sadness meant you had to isolate yourself? Or your fear was an indicator not to do something?
Have you ever noticed that excitement and fear are very close in feeling states? That often you could be mistaking your excitement for fear!
Have you ever noticed your posture when in a depressed state? Take note next time. I know for me every time I am feeling deflated or down. My shoulders are rounded and forward, attempting to protect my heart, due to my fragile state! My back will be rounded, depressing all my internal organs to decrease my size. Because I just want to disappear from my life!

OK, so now you have done your wonder woman pose, how do you feel? It is a very powerful but simple tool! Combine this with some deep slow breathing. Next time you want to explode. Then witness the intensity of you e-motions, reducing to a level where you can respond rather than react! Behaving like the person you would rather be!
